The hotel did not know about my reservation and could only offer a double room.
i have actually stayed there a few times, and not had a bad experience, overall i always look forward to my stay, such a nice area and great staff.
The staff were all very polite and friendly. My room was basic but clean.
My double bed had two single mattress protectors which met in the middle with no where to fit, so a little uncomfortable during the night.
Near centre where i needed to be. Nice location and views
Shower was appalling. No pressure. Had to check out and into another room as the bath cold tap did not work .For the price breakfast should be included
The setting was excellent. Restaurant and bar staff very good. Food value for money.
I was most dissapointed at reception. We were not welcomed with either a smile or hallo. This particular receptionist was not helpful all through stay and I did complain to manager and suggested that as she was the first person guests meet this was not good. Also suggested she went on course to learn how to communicate with people. The other receptionists were really professional.
Friendly helpful staff. Price. Views.
The room smelt of shit when we went in, someone had used the toilet before we arrived. Stains on the carpet and ripped sheets. The decor was also poor.
Good location by the river and boating lake. Useful for travellers like us going from one end of the country to the other and needing an overnight stay to split up the journey.
Could not get seat away from shower, which was too low for people not suffering from disablities.
The view from the bedroom
The cost of the breakfast - £10 per person on-line and £7.50 if ordered when you get there!!!! In my opinion both are far too expensive considering you can buy two bar meals for £10 in the bar of an evening!!!
cosy room on the ground floor, good shower, plenty of plug sockets, convenient for the city centre. Nice flat screen TV, not too far away from the bed.
Half window curtain meant others could see in. Bedding was a bit dirty. Dark room, could have done with a main central light, Shower could have been a bit cleaner. Wasn't so bad that I wouldn't stay again though!
when ringing to confirm booking, reception staff seemed not to have an idea about the online booking process and it took some time just to confirm I had a room
The hotel is set in beautiful grounds. The view from the breakfast area was stuning.
After a long drive to reach the hotel at 11pm. I waited at the reception area and was not acknowledge by 3 members of staff whom had they head down. Then when some did acknowledge us we could not hear them due to the party that was going on next to the reception area. The reservation and paying system is very confusing.
Cleanliness of Hotel and ample parking
It was on the lake we then spent the whole day on, perfect location.
We arrived at about 12.30 and, as we expected, our room was not ready; however, while enjoying a cuppa and a sandwich for lunch the receptionist came over to inform us that our room was ready. We were going to a wedding that afternoon and the reception was to be at the Ramada Peterborough where we were staying for just one night. We were delighted to have the room this early as we were able to have a rest and get changed for the wedding ceremony in the afternoon.
The only minus side to our stay was that in our room 222 the white net curtains were all jagged at the bottom. This gave the room a sort of neglected feel. Apart from this the facilities in the room were excellent and the bed extremely comfortable. This comment is certainly not a complaint - just an observation.
Food, The preparation and presentation of this was quite poor
